A Tribute to Bobby Moore

… and an amazing idea of a 9-years-old Hammers fan

It was 18 years ago today that the great West Ham and England skipper Bobby Moore (12.4.1941 – 24.2.1993) died. Here’s a tribute to the famous defender, the legendary captain of England and West Ham, and the universally respected man who represented everything good about the game.

In memory of Bobby Moore who died from bowel cancer, aged just 51, the Bobby Moore Fund , established by Bobby’s wife Stephanie, raises money for research into bowel cancer. This charity in the name of Bobby Moore is a fantastic tribute to the memory of a great man and a great footballer.

Why not support the Bobby Moore Fund and 9-years-old West Ham fan Jonjo Heuerman today? He is going to start a 3 day 20 miles walk tomorrow across 6 London boroughs from the Bobby Moore Statue outside Wembley Stadium to West Ham’s “Boleyn Ground” in memory of his Nanny and Bobby Moore, they both died from bowel cancer. Jonjo hopes to raise at least £10,000 for The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK in memory them both.
