Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City and now Chelsea

The list of clubs which have been beaten by the Hammers this season is almost unbelieveable. For many years in which I have been supporting West Ham we have always been proud and happy if we beat one or two of the big guns throughout a season. But this year Slaven Bilic’s men have already got four big scalps. What a season! And Saturday’s 2-1 win against Chelsea has been achieved at home in front of 35,000 at the Boleyn, with long time absentee Andy Carroll scoring the winning goal!
Andy Carroll came off the bench to fire West Ham United to victory over ten-man Chelsea with a well timed header – his first Barclays Premier League goal since January 2015.
The returning Mauro Zarate fired West Ham in front after 17 minutes, when he collected the loose ball from a corner which had been earned by Dimitri Payet whose freekick had been tipped over the bar by Chelsea keeper Asmir Begovic.

And after the Hammers could clear a ball on the line and Nemanja Matic saw red on the stroke of half-time for a second bookable offence, Slaven Bilic’s men looked on course for another major scalp.

But Gary Cahill had other ideas, profiting from another corner to smash the visitors level after 56 minutes. Carroll, however, would have the final word, when Aron Cresswell pumped a ball into the box from the left and Carroll rised to plant a towering header beyond Asmir Begovic to put the Hammers second!
